Colonial White Granite
Colonial White Granite is a cloudy white granite from India. There are random swirls ranging from white to cream and grey across the surface of this granite (this patterning is best understand by looking at the slab at the bottom of this page). And black specks and the occasional dark rose mineral deposits1. This granite is quarried in the region of Tamil Nadu, South East, India2.
Colonial White granite can be seen used in several applications including white granite dining tables, kitchen countertops, steps (shown below), cladding and stone tiles. The use of this granite can add warmth to any area in which it is situated. This granite is great to use in areas which will endure moderate to heavy use. The first reason for this is Colonial White granite is amongst the leading white granites in terms of durability (although nowhere close to the darker granite in terms of durability). And the second reason is the natural swirls and patterning will not show up every minute speck on it's surface.
In terms of blending in to an overall design scheme. Colonial White can look great alone or combined with other natural materials like walnut and oak.
Combining this granite with natural oak painted white or cream is an especially beautiful combination. You can often see this combination of painted kitchen units and Colonial White worktops.
Colonial White granite is ideal for anyone who wants a white granite which gives you a combination of durability, warmth and natural patterning. We think Colonial White granite is used best when used in the construction of granite worktops, granite coffee tables and granite dining tables.
